Trail Mix and Chicken Hearts

6/12/17
So during one of those moments of *deep thought* this week, I realized that I would like to revise the statement of Forrest Gump because I think life is more like a bag of trail mix. There are M&M's and then...there are raisins (sorry to all you guys that like raisins). You can't control how many raisins or how many M&M's there are - unless you are one of those fancy people that makes their own trail mix - so you kinda just gotta decide if you like trail mix or not. Maybe I came up with this analogy because I was being super philosophical or maybe because I was really homesick for raisins (the latter hahah).

Buuuuuut we had a tons of M&M's this week! First, it's starting to get COLD. Okay, not cold cold. But enough for me to shiver even with a cardigan cold.

Also, we're teaching a couple super cool people! Well, not officially teaching yet. One is a guy about 19/20 y/o whose name is Luis Henrique and he's already come to church twice on his own and we're going to officially start teaching him today and basically I am super excited because he's already progressing!

And then there was another day that we were running from one lesson to another and we visited one of our investigators but he was sleeping but his wife, who we hadn't met yet, was like, "Do you guys want bread? I made some bread!" And we went home that night with a loaf of homemade bread and we were really happy so that was awesome.

And apparently my trail mix life not only has raisins and M&M's, but chicken hearts, too. We had a barbeque with one of the members the other day and, well, I ate chicken hearts hahaha.

The scripture I've been sharing almost every meal with members recently is 2 Néfi 2:25: Adam fell that men might be, and men are, that they might have joy! Remember that this life is a time to prepare to meet God and do the things he has asked, but He doesn't want us to suffer during it. We are meant to have fun and be happy!

So focus on the M&M's in your life this week and remember that trail mix - raisins included - is delicious.

I love you guys!

Todo o meu amor,
Sister Moratinha

p.s. Mom if you think that trail mix would make it through customs, it'd be great if you could send some :)
