The Woman, the Car, and the Coca-Cola

6/26/17
Alright so our week was literally all over the place (I feel like I say that in every email lol) but seriously I can't believe it's PDay again and we had some pretty great experiences this week, including:

1. a 2 hours ônibus ride in the unpaved eeeeedge of town aka basically it was the Indiana Jones ride for 2 hours

2. MISSION TOUR. Elder Perrote came and it was a meeting filled with *BAM* revelation and it was so great.

3. homegrown cherry tomatoes.

4. okay so we were doing divisions this week and basically what had happened was me and Sister Mazieiro almost missed the bus to lunch and ran ran ran to the bus and caught it and we had lunch suuuper far away from our house and were debating whether to take the bus back or walk and so we decided that since it's super far that we needed to take the bus so we waited
and waited
and waited
for forever and we were talking and S mazieiro looked up and was like, "the bus...." and the bus passed and wow run on sentence sorry. So we decided alright, let's walk back and we were walking and walking and walking by a bunch of abandoned factories and basically there was nothing living there until we stumbled across a woman pulled over with car problems so we went over to help and we were able to back track and find a couple of men who were able to come and help her because poor thing was super stressed and late to a hospital appointment and basically we stayed a little longer to help her and went on our way. after some more walking we (finally) caught the right ônibus (after almost missing it again lol) and went back to the area near our house. a couple hours later we were heading to a lesson in a park behind a hospital when we looked and the lady was there! She didn't believe that she'd ever see us again and ended up insisting on buying a coca cola for us (not a big fan of soda but S Mazieiro was dying of thirst and loves coca cola so that was her little miracle of the day). She ended up asking us who we were, what we were doing on all the edges of town lol and we ended up explaining that we're missionaries and shared a little bit of the gospel with her. She doesn't live in our area but after we left to go to our lesson, I felt great because I know that God has a perfect plan for us down to the details and that no effort is wasted. All we did was help her find people who helped her more but we were able to share the gospel with her and maybe one day she'll come across the missionaries again and she'll remember this day.

So I learned a lot of things this week and one of those things is that every act of kindness, every testimony we share, isn't wasted. God uses us in every little way and everything that we do has an effect. A smile, a scripture, it doesn't matter. So don't be afraid to share your light! As it goes in Matthew (maybe?), a city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Don't light a candle and stick in under a bushel because our light is meant to be shared!

I love you guys and have a great week!!!

Todo o meu amor,
Sister Morata
