HELLO IT'S HOT HERE.

But other than that we're doing good haha. 

This week was great. On Saturday afternoon, we found a man named Ricardo who had received a Book of Mormon a few years ago but ended up throwing it out because he didn't really know what it was, neither did he read it. We were able to share with him the message of the Restauration and gave him a new Book of Mormon, and he came to church yesterday! He's super great and super open, and we've got great hopes for him.

OH and me and my new comp, Sister Lira and I are doing great! It's great to have a Brasilian companion again because with the last two companions, I think I started speaking a little bit of Spanish instead of Portugues haaha.

The work is progressing here in Américo! And I promise that I'll have pictures to send next week :)

somebody get me a cookbook

Okay so one thing I learned this week is that I can't cook hahahha. 

Poor Sister Rodriguez got a little sick last week and I tried to make her lunch and let's say that I'm not the greatest pasta cook and that my banana pancakes don't even look like pancakes LOL but that's okay. The Lord still blessed us with an incredibly productive week! We were able to find a lot of new people to teach that have so much potential! We felt so blessed and so grateful to be witnesses of how the light of the gospel changes the lives of those who choose to live it. 

Anyways, we have transfers this week! I'm still in Américo but I've got a new companion! Her name is Sister Lira and she's from Acre, a super super northern part of Brasil that everybody jokes isn't even part of Brasil. We're super excited for the work this transfer and it'll be great.

I LOVE AMERICO

hello yeah it's been a while (cue oldies music)

These past couple weeks were great! Tião was baptized a couple weeks ago and is going super strong! He's made a really good friend here at church and is loving the gospel. He's reading The Book of Mormon and loves the Gospel Library app and Mormon Channel on Youtube. We're super super grateful for him because we know that, even if other things during our week are rough, Tião is doing well and we call him our little ray of sunshine. haha it's great.

This past week we also had an activity and it went really well! Lots of ward members participated and loved it. It was about the Plan of Salvation and helped us to remember that our time here is short and that we should be aware of how we are spending that time. 

Anyways, we keep focusing our studies on Christ and I'm loving it. Stopping and pondering about all the titles for Christ helps me realize just how much He has done for me and helps me read the scriptures with a new perspective. I'd invite you guys to do it :)

André was baptized this past week! It was super awesome, a ton of people came to support him and it was great to see all the love between the members here in Américo Brasliense ♥ We're preparing Tião, another investigator, for baptism this week and the members are continuing to share their love and support! 

Between that and our zone conference on Wednesday, we had a fabulous week! We focused a lot on the Savior: who is the Christ that I know? What are we doing to have Him not just be a figure, but to have a personal relationship with Him?

And we reflected on the last words that Pres. Monson gave to us as a prophet and his plea for us to study the Book of Mormon every day. I know that if we do our part to do so, that we will be guided in every decision we make and will have the strength to overcome our difficulties. 

I love this work! I love this gospel! Have a great week!!!
